CNY Celebrations
Relive JPFam's CNY celebrations, from heartfelt intergenerational activities with seniors to vibrant performances by students showcasing cultural pride and festive cheer.
On the morning of 16 February, JPFam came together for a meaningful Chinese New Year (CNY) Celebration that was filled with tradition, joy, and community spirit. 🧧✨ Students reported to the hall bright and early, kicking off the day with Morning Assembly before moving on to classroom activities and an Elderly Engagement Session. While classes bonded through spring cleaning, CNY bingo and drawing challenges, a group of student volunteers warmly hosted seniors from nearby Active Ageing Centres in the library. Through friendly conversations, festive quizzes and games, students and seniors shared laughter and stories, creating meaningful intergenerational connections. The students also presented the seniors with mandarin oranges 🍊🍊 and goodie bags as a gesture of festive blessings and appreciation. The presentation of oranges to the Civics Tutors also added a festive touch across classrooms, symbolising blessings and prosperity for the year ahead. Following the classroom sessions, students made their way back to the hall for a vibrant line-up of performances. The CNY concert opened with a lively Lion Dance performance, followed by our Principal, Mr Ang’s Opening Address and an appreciation segment dedicated to our valued JPFam members, including OSO contract cleaners and security guards. This heartfelt gesture, together with the presentation of gifts and oranges, highlighted the school’s emphasis on gratitude and inclusivity.
The atmosphere was further energised by performances from the Chinese Orchestra, Concert Band, Choir, Dance groups, and the CLEP & MLEP Drum Ensemble. Each act showcased students’ talent and cultural pride, bringing the hall alive with festive cheer and applause. 🎶🥁
The programme wrapped up on a high note, leaving everyone with warm smiles and renewed appreciation for the people around them, further strengthening bonds within our JPFam community! 🌟❤️🌱🚀
