Matriculation and Orientation
New J1 students were welcomed into the JPFam through a lively three-day Matriculation and Orientation programme filled with games, house activities, and CCA sign-ups.
From the 4th to the 6th of February, our new J1 students were welcomed warmly by the “happy line” put up by our Orientation Group Leaders (OGLs), and mellifluous greetings started the day on a high note! Throughout the various talk series held by the Heads of Departments (HODs), teachers and counselors, students were able to select their desired subject combinations, understand our school history and make themselves feel at home amongst the JPFam. 📚
But what fun would M&O be without any games? Through college tour games as well as a multitude of icebreakers, the J1s grew familiar with the school and forged friendships within their matriculation groups, killing two birds with one stone. Matriculation then ended off on a high note with the J1s visiting the various (Co-Curricular Activities) CCA booths to select their CCA of choice, marking the start of their journey as official members of the JPFam. ⛹🏻♀️
The three-day Orientation programme warmly welcomed the J1 students and immersed them in vibrant and meaningful experiences, easing their transition into college life. Each morning began with the lively ‘happy line’, where the OGLS energised the students and set an enthusiastic tone for the day. A key highlight was the House meeting, during which students bonded more closely with their House members and learnt their House cheers, proudly building identity and spirit. The learning of the college dance further united the cohort, as everyone moved in sync and shared in the excitement. The mass games stood out as one of the most exhilarating segments, requiring teamwork, resilience and communication, while fostering strong friendships within matriculation groups. The Orientation skits also left a lasting impression by creatively conveying messages about unity and belonging. Orientation completed with a bang with the electrifying dance performances by the OGLs of the various houses, bringing the M&O event to a rousing close. 🎉
Overall, the programme successfully strengthened House spirit, forged new friendships and helped the J1s begin their college journey with confidence and enthusiasm. ❤️🌱🚀
