Teachers' Day Celebrations

The Teachers' Day Celebrations were held on 3 September 2026, as a college-wide celebration to recognise and appreciate the teachers who have supported and guided our students throughout their time in JPJC. The celebration was organised by the 9th Student Council's Teachers' Day Planning Committee, with the support of the Student Council Teacher Advisors and the wider JPFam.

This year's celebration was centred around the theme "Back To Why," encouraging both staff and students to reflect on the people, experiences and passions that have shaped them. As part of the celebrations, the college introduced "Wear Your Why," where students and staff were invited to dress as a real-life role model or fictional character who had inspired or influenced them. Students and teachers also shared the stories behind their choices through the Digital Character Passport, allowing the community to learn more about the people who had shaped their "Why".

The celebrations began with a special Teachers' Day concert, where staff were welcomed through a runway segment before joining the students in the hall. The programme included a range of student and teacher performances, activities and appreciation segments prepared specially for the occasion. Students also had the opportunity to recognise their teachers through the Teachers' Day Awards, celebrating teachers for their impact, dedication, energy and the unique qualities they bring to the JPFam. The celebrations continued with class parties, giving students and their Civics Tutors time to celebrate and connect in a more informal setting.

The Teachers' Day celebrations provided a wholesome opportunity for the JPFam to come together and express appreciation for the teachers who make a difference in students' lives. Through the various activities and celebrations, students were reminded not only of what their teachers do, but also of the "Why" behind the people who teach, guide and support them.
